Abstract. Storage of electrical energy generated by variable and diffuse wind and solar energy at an acceptable cost would liberate modern society from its dependence for energy on the combustion of fossil fuels. This perspective attempts to project the extent to which electrochemical technologies can achieve this liberation.

Engineers have developed a computer-based technique that can screen thousands of two-dimensional materials, and identify those with potential for making
Electrical Energy Storage is a process of converting electrical energy into a form that can be stored for converting back to electrical energy when needed (McLarnon and Cairns, 1989; Ibrahim et al., 2008 ). In this section, a technical comparison between the different types of energy storage systems is carried out.
Energy Materials. As the world-wide demand for energy is expected to continue to increase at a rapid rate, it is critical that improved technologies for sustainably producing, converting, and storing energy are developed. Materials are key roadblocks to improved performance in a number of important energy technologies including energy storage

Two conclusions can be drawn from the above analysis for the NMC811|Gr battery. First, the reactions between the cathode and electrolyte accelerated the self-heating rate and then triggered thermal runaway. Second, the reactions in the CaAn system heated the battery to the highest temperature during thermal runaway.
